Subject: Wiley Middle School Addition, Schematic Plan Update
Schematic plans have been developed for the addition at Wiley MS. This projects is part of the 2016 Bond package that was approved by the voters of Forsyth County in November 2016 and includes a new gymnasium and six (6) STEAM classrooms. The project also includes the relocation of the boiler that provides heat to Wiley.

WS/FCS Construction and Planning Staff has consulted with Wiley MS Administration and our Maintenance Department in the development of these preliminary drawings. In the next 4 to 6 weeks, we will be having discussions with the City of WS Planning and Inspections Department to identify any concerns they may have. In addition, we will be holding a community meeting in July at Wiley MS to receive input from interested community members. The date of the meeting will be shared at the Board of Education meeting and will be published on the WS/FCS website.
Following the discussions outlined above, staff anticipates requesting approval of the schematic drawings from the Building and Grounds Committee and Board of Education in an August 2019 meeting.
Construction of this project will take approximately 18–20 months and is scheduled to begin in late Spring 2020.
